eBUGS 2013On July 1st 2013, projects with gross floor area (GFA) of 20,000 sq. m. and above are to be submitted in BIM format for regulatory approval. Since 2011, with the release of our "eBDAS BIM for Revit", we have been active in getting BIM users to be ready for BIM e-Submission. Several firms have used this solution to compute and submit Buildability Scores directly from their BIM. This year, we have developed a similar solution for ArchiCAD users. A new cross-platform update which works on ArchiCAD (IFC) and Revit 2012-14 will be released on June 26th. We held a user group meeting on that day to brief existing and new users on how to use this new update, tips and tricks in managing your BIM for Buildability Score Compliance and also information about the revised BDAS which will be rolled out by BCA in July.
In addition to just e-Submission, we invited 2 other speakers to cover platform independent and productivity related BIM issues. Chidambaram, formerly a Senior Technical Consultant at CCIT / BCA, shared his views on "Quality Assurance in BIM Management". Paula Helen Valencia who has been involved in the development of BIM platforms to follow standard design regulations in Singapore spoke on "Working with BIM Collaboration Format (BCF)" and how you can use a simple yet effective workflow to get BIM model checking results.
